Our Team

Gary Clum

Agency Director

Gary has been the agency director for Foundation Dinners since 2006, but has been affiliated with the organization since the 90s upon its inception by his father, Ed Clum. Gary’s involvement has varied over the years, as he initially served as the kitchen director for three years. He’s volunteered numerous hours over his lifetime; even spearheading the kitchen area project that was two years in the making, expanding their access to serve more clients.

Gary’s experience assisting displaced people around the community expands several years, including his former work as a counselor to connect people in need with social services. He has a lifelong passion for serving others and a commitment to supporting those in need of job security and housing. Gary believes this vocation is best articulated through this saying: “God be blessed and is when we help people in need. We are always blessed when we help people in need.”

Steve Templin

Case Manager

Steve is the resident case manager at Foundation Dinners, prioritizing relationships and connectedness between clients and guests as they navigate their journey through food insecurity, employment, and housing. Formerly an elementary school principal, Steve has immense training and experience with education and relationship-building. His 34 years in the field, with 26 at Berne Union, prepared him for the calling to serve others at this organization. Steve and his wife, Marsha, have traveled to many countries, sharing Jesus’ ministry through service. He also fulfills the role of director at the Foundation Shelters in Lancaster.

Marsha Templin

Kitchen Director

Marsha is a retired home economics teacher, who is putting her servant-hearted qualities to work as the kitchen director for Foundation Dinners. Her favorite teaching subject was food and nutrition, which comes as no surprise when she decided to begin working at our organization. She is passionate about serving the homeless and disadvantaged, locally and internationally; having previously been a missionary in Lesotho, South Africa, the Navajo Nation, Mexico, Ethiopia, and the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville).

Marsha also volunteers her time at the Foundation Shelters in Lancaster as an innkeeper. She and her husband Steve have four married sons and nine grandchildren.

Rick Chrysler

Administrator

Rick’s career was largely spent in the corporate world, having managed Grote Food Service – the sister company of Donato’s Pizza. He also owned Chrysler’s Restaurant Equipment many years ago, but upon retiring, decided to spend time volunteering at Foundation Dinners one day per week. This transitioned into a full-time job as administrator, overseeing many of the logistical and relational pieces of our organization.

Rick also volunteers his time at the Pickerington Food Pantry and HEART Food Pantry in Reynoldsburg. He and his wife, Kathy have two adult daughters, three grandsons, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. Rick also enjoys golfing and has owned and trained standardbred horses.

Karen Brunney

Kitchen Director

Karen has dedicated her time to the Foundation Dinners after spending more than 20 years in different parts of the country with her husband, Mike, during his career in the United States Air Force. She initially began volunteering at our organization one day per week, but soon evolved into five days, overseeing two meals per day, for the entire year.

Liz Black

Director

Liz is a long-standing employee of Foundation Dinners, with over 25 years of experience. She and her husband of 46 years, Charlie, have three children and seven grandchildren. She attributes her commitment of service to others through the example set by her mother whilst growing up. Prior to becoming the Wednesday director, she trained under Carol Clum.

The words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40 say, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.  And Isaiah 58:7 reads, “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter?”

Liz enjoys being a part of this ministry and shares that Foundation Dinners is a safe and warm place to come hear a message of hope and receive a warm meal.
